Recommended by every practice in the city
Crown Dental Lab sends a 3D preview of every crown before shipping. They're now the lab dentists tell their colleagues about.
The remake problem
Dental labs lose money on remakes. Crown was averaging one re-make per twelve crowns — small misalignments that only showed up at the chair. Each remake cost the lab roughly £80 in time and materials, plus the soft cost of a dentist annoyed enough to call.
Previewing before shipping
Crown's master technician started using Bury3D to record a 60-second walk-around of every crown before it shipped. The dentist receives a link, rotates the crown on their phone, signs off (or asks for a tweak) inside the same thread. Remakes dropped 42% in the first quarter.
Word-of-mouth growth
Crown isn't doing marketing. They picked up 11 new practices last quarter purely through dentist-to-dentist referral. Every dentist who works with them ends up recommending them because the preview-and-approve workflow saves chairtime.
“The dentists love being able to see exactly how the crown will sit before we ship. We're now the lab they recommend to other practices in the city.”
